STAR 60 BLOCK EXPLORATION - The Basics
The Star 60 tool from Studio 180 Design can make some fantastic units. This class is part of the Star 60 Block Exploration (a monthly block exploration), but you are welcome to join us (space permitting).
In this session, we'll learn to use the tool to make the basic unit and work with 4" diamonds. Students will complete a 6 pointed star while learning
the principle behind the Star 60 tools of cutting oversize and trimming to precision
how to piece with accurate 1/4" seams,
pressing tips and tricks for completely flat seams
trim units to precision
sew the star points together without any lumps or bumps!
SUPPLY LIST
Fabric Supplies:
1/4 meter cuts of 2-3 fabrics with one being a background.
Sewing Machine in good working order. Studio Machines may be available for use during class time. Please book at time of registration
Needles, feet, bobbins, thread*
Cutting Supplies
Students are asked to supply their own rotary cutter with a fresh blade
Small cutting mat and 6 x 12" ruler. Larger cutting tools will be available for use in the class.
