FREE MOTION QUILTING ON STATIONARY MACHINES (DOMESTIC)

Spend the morning learning the basics of 5 shapes that make up all FMQ designs and the foundation for all future FMQ. We’ll cover the basic mechanics of FMQ, and how to stitch the 5 basic shapes. We’ll then take what we’ve learned and put these shapes together into a variety of unique quilting motifs.

Learn how to set up your machine, the basic mechanics of Free Motion Qulting and how to stitch the 5 basic shapes. This class is ideal for those who have never tried FMQ before, but is also a valuable refresher for those with some experience.

If you've covered the basics of Free Motion Qulting and want to build on your qulting skills, this is the day! In this class we'll be focusing on creating unique-to-us quilting motifs and how to re-create designs we see on other quilts. We'll also be learning how to draw and quilt basic tear drop feathers in a variety of shapes and designs to create feather borders, blocks and background fills. This is a full day of quilting and you'll have lots of time to draw and stitch.

Students will gain confidence in their Free Motion Quilting by taking what they learned in the Beyond Meandering and Loops class and learn how to put the basic shapes together to create a variety of quilting motifs. his class will give students the opportunity to create their own quilting motifs for greater personal expression.

Free Motion Quilitng Feathers are beautiful and not as difficult as many people think they are. In this class we'll focus on the style of feathers that a lot refer to as Longarm Feathers, but we can do them on our stationary machines. We'll play withy the shape and the size and add a variety of design elements.

Learn some basic informtion about rulers, how to use them for accurate quilting anbd stitch a small quilt while we practice free motion quilting with rulers. We will focus on straigh line and shallow curved rulers.

Learn how to use the 5 basic shapes to create a vareity of flower and leaf motifs. Students will learn how easy it is to make one little change for a whole new look. Who knew there were so many flowers and leaves!

Learn how to choose and stitch a variety of designs that are perfect for long narrow spaces. We'll focus on some basic designs for fullest effect.
