Beginner Sewing
This beginner class is for those who haven’t sewn before or who haven’t sewn for a long time. Students will make two sewing related projects while they learn how to use a sewing machine and sewing tools.
Objectives:

Learn the parts of the sewing machine and the tools needed to complete most projects

Learn to thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin

Lean how to select machine stitch patterns

Learn how to adjust tension, stitch length and width

Learn to read a sewing pattern

Learn to lay out and cut out fabric according to pattern instructions

Learn to sew straight seams

Learn how to sew a buttonhole and hand sew a button in place

Sew a “sewing tidy and pin cushion” and a snap bag
Serger Basics
Learn how easy it is to thread your serger, get perfect tension and trouble shoot a variety of common issues.
This class is for those who have a new serger, have a serger in their closet that they haven’t used in a while; or those interested in purchasing a serger and want to find out what sergers can do. We will have a serger or two available for rental ($25)
In this class you will learn how to thread the machine, learn how to adjust the machine to get perfect tension and play with the various stitches available on a variety of sergers.
