STAR 60 BLOCK EXPLORATIONS (eve)
Explore the many ways we can use the Star 60 Tool from Studio 180 Design.

Description
Studio 180 Design tools are a set of piecing rulers that allow us to make multiple sizes of units and blocks. In the Star 60 Block Exploration we are going to create Hexagons using the Studio 180 Design theory of oversizing the units and trimming them to precision. There are a total of 17 size options available to use, but we'll work with a 4" option for uniformity. The techniques for each unit include straightforward instructions. There are 9 or more different units that we can make, so we are going to meet for at least 9 times to learn how to create a variety of units for hexagon blocks. Participants will be encouraged to learn the techniques, sew a variety of blocks and make a quilt! The first class will be an overview of the process and discussion of supplies you will need for each class. - Studio 180 Design Start 60 Tool (recommended) - available for purchase - Fabrics: 2-3 meters neutral background (if planning to make coordinated blocks for a quilt) and 4-6 Fat Quarters of Fabric. If you are planning to play with the techniques, bring Fat Quarters from your stash - Sewing tools - Machine, rotary cutting tools (mats and large rulers are available for use in class), thread, basic sewing kit. - Sewing machine in good working order.
