EXPLORING COLOUR
Dyeing your own fabric is a little addictive and a whole lot of fun! Every piece of dyed fabric is an exciting surprise. Even though we will work with a limited dye palette, you’ll be amazed by the variety of colours that can be produced. We’ll be spending time learning and experimenting with colour theory. After dyeing, you’ll have a much better understanding of why certain colours work well with others. Get a taste of fabric dyeing in this introductory class.

COLOUR WHEEL - 2 WAYS
Get started or continue the exciting process of Dyeing your own fabrics! In this class we'll focus on creating 2 colour wheels of dyed fabrics using 2 different dye colours. We'll look at some basic colour theory and after dying these 18 Fat Quarters, you'll have a better understanding of why certain colours work well with others.

COLOUR AND VALUE GRADATION
Have you ever wanted to dye a whole rainbow of colour in different values from dark to very light? Here’s your chance! We’ll pick 2 dye colours and create a 5 step gradation from Colour #1 to Colour #2. Then we’ll make 6 values of each of the colours from dark to very light. Students will mix their own dye stocks and have fun creating a beautiful rainbow of colour. Imagine, these 30 FQ becoming the basis for a beautiful quilt!

SHADED FOUR PATCH
Strips and Rectangles magically transform into Triangles in this simple block. It looks challenging, but is really quite simple.
This quilt is made using a Shaded Four Patch unit and the Tucker Trimmer I tool from Studio 180 Design. In this class, we'll learn how to use the Tucker Trimmer to trim these blocks. This quilt is a great introduction to Studio 180 Design tools.
It's a great way to use up some scraps or even use some yardage to make a fantastic quilt.

FREE MOTION QUILTING - LETS GET STARTED (ALL DAY)
Free MotIon Quilting on a domestic machine or long arm machine uses the same basic 5-6 shapes. The trick is to learn to recognize these shapes and how they are put together to create quilting motifs.
We’ll be looking at lots of samples and pages of drawn designs. Students will practice drawing and stitching the designs. Free Motion quilting becomes easier with more practice, so we’ll have lots of time for that.
This is a “let’s get started” class, focused of those who have not done any Free Motion Quilting before or want a refresher for their skills. We’ll start the day discussing the fabric layers and seƫting up the machine. We’ll learn and draw the 5 basic shapes and practice stitching each in turn. We’ll be exploring how to use these shapes in sashings and borders as well as for all over fill designs.

FREE MOTION QUILTING - MOVING ON (ALL DAY)
If you joined me for the Let’s Get Started class or have some Free Motion Quilting experience and want to grow as a quilter, today is the day!
We start with a review of the 5 Basic Shapes and move on to ways to combine them into more detailed designs. We'll also learn how to use the piecing inthe quilt to space designs for efficient quilting. And we'llalso learn how to quilt a basic tear drop feather.

FREE MOTION QUILTING - BASIC FEATHER
Free Motion Quilitng Feathers are beautiful and not as difficult as many people think they are. In this class we'll focus on the style of feathers that a lot refer to as Longarm Feathers, but we can do them on our stationary machines. We'll play withy the shape and the size and add a variety of design elements.

BASICS OF LONGARM QUILTING
Does longarm quilting interest you, and you'd like to learn more about it? Or do you just want a review of longarm quilting basics? This class removes the mystery of longarm quilting by explaining machine and frame elements and features, how to load a quilit, and vital facts about thread, needles, and tension. Handi Quilter longarm machines and frame systems come in various sizes for every budget and are user-friendly because they are designed by a quilter, for quilters - just like you!

QUILTING FROM THE BACK
Have you wanted to learn how to use paper pantographs and be able to quilt your own quilts? This class is for you. We'll cover:
choosing and sourcing pantographs
setting up our machine and the quilt for quilting from the back
advancing tips and tricks
lots of practice as we quilt a small quilt
we'll even get into quilting from the front with paper pantographs!
You'll soon be a master quilter!

PRO-STITCHER BASICS
Pro-Stitcher is an intuitive computer-guided quilting system that is user-friendly and simple to operate. Let me share with you the basics and some simple step-by-step processes for each function, You'll quickly see how is easy and fun it is to quilt with Pro-Stitcher.

NEXT STEPS FOR LONGARM QUILTING
Students will gain confidence in their Free Motion Quilting by taking what they learned in the Beyond Meandering and Loops class and learn how to put the basic shapes togehter to create a variety of quilting motifs. This class will give students the opportunity to create thier own quilting ;motifs for greater personal expression.

QUILTING WITH RULERS ON A LONGARM MACHINE
Quilting Rulers (also known at Templates) give quilters another tool for quilting fabulous quilts. In this class we'll focus on proper use and how to use some of the basic rulers to create fabulous designs.

Beginner Sewing
This beginner class is for those who haven’t sewn before or who haven’t sewn for a long time. Students will make two sewing related projects while they
learn how to use a sewing machine and sewing tools.
Learn the parts of the sewing machine and the tools needed to complete most projects.
Learn to thread a sewing machine and wind a bobbin.
Learn how to select machine stitch pattern.
Learn how to adjust tension, stitch length and width.
Learn to read a sewing pattern. Learn to lay out and cut out fabric according to pattern instructions.
Learn to sew straight seams. Learn how to sew a buttonhole and hand sew a button in place.
Sew a “sewing tidy and pin cushion” and a snap bag

BRENDA CROSS BODY BAG
Learning to sew can be intimidating when you don't know what you are capable of. Join me for a day of sewing as you make this great little cross body bag I've called the Brenda Cross Body Bag.
You'll lean some basics like cutting the fabric, pressing and sewing straight seams. You'll also learn how to sew a zipper and make a few pockets.
