Weekend shout out!
Welcome to August! If you are in Calgary, you know that we've had some super crazy weather this past week. Our mornings have been absolutely beautiful but by lunch the clouds have moved in and we've had all kinds of crazy storms!
Last week I said that we'd have a quiet week in the studio. I was helping with our Church's Soccer Camp and VBS each morning so would have limited studio time. I was part of the Snack Team in the mornings and then spent most of the afternoons with my Grand daughter. We had a blast! Now it's back to work!
In the Studio
Monday is a holiday, so I think I'll keep the studio closed and see if I can get some of my own work done. Wednesday during the day, the studio will be closed. Other than that, Tuesday 9-9, Thursday 9-9 and Friday 9-9 are studio times. Call to book some longarm rental time or to bring your quilt for me to work on for you.
I received a request this week for a quilting sale! So, ask and you shall receive! All longarm services for August (brought in before the end of August) will receive 10% off. Bring in 2 quilts and receive 15% off, 3 quilts, 20% off and 4 will receive 25% off quilting services!!!!! If I already have your quilt, I'll apply the discount when you pick it up!
On the Calendar
SEW DAY this week is a full day Tuesday, 9-9. It's only $15 to join us, but I do need to know you are coming so I can set up for you. This week I was able to help Darilyne with a very old Lone Star quilt project. I hope she gets it finished soon 'cause I want some pictures.
August Classes, check them out!
Quilting with- Rulers on a Longarm Machine. Using these wonderful tools adds innumerable variations! Learn how to use these tools on a longarm machine. We'll focus on proper technique and some basic designs. Tuesday, August 15 9am-noon.
Handy Dyed Fabric - More! - Learn about mixing dyes and creating texture in this fun class. All fabric and dye supplies are included. No experience necessary! Tuesday, August 15 1:30-4:30pm
Cathy and I are finalizing the details of the Wee-Sew Wednesdays at Pinheads Quilting Company . We should have everything in place this week.
We are also taking about offering a Block of the Month/Quilt Club to meet monthly and end with a finished quilt! If this is something that interests you, contact Cathy at Pinheads.
I'm still working on some Handi Quilter Pro-Stitcher workshops. Nothing to report yet!

Weekend Shout Out! I've had replies and a few have suggested I keep the name Weekend Shout out! So, I am! I'll do a draw this week of those who suggested I keep the name as it is. I'll post next week who the winner of the $35 coupon is.
