It's January 2026! This month I'm working on the Cut Crystal pattern that is highlighted in the 2026 Calendar for January. Have you got your calendar yet?

Each year I try to choose a challenge for my quilting studio. 2025 was a year to finish, to get myself organized and to plan for the future. ... It's still a work in progress.
This year, 2026, I'm challenging myself to use the Studio 180 Design calendar for 2026 as inspiration for making a quilt.

I've got a great tale of woe getting the video recorded and edited! I recorded the whole process of cutting, sewing and trimming the block. Then went to edit and found the video way too confusing (even for me to watch). So, I re-corded the steps and promptly lost the entire recording! Sheesh!
Yesterday, I re-re-recorded the steps and finally got it edited this morning and posted. I've learned a lot about recording and hope that future months will be much smoother to record and edit and for you to watch.
Some things to point out before you watch the video.
Please be kind. I'm new to recording and editing!
I am trying to make things as clear as possible for you to view. I would love any feedback that you can give me to improve the presentations.
Here is my beginning of the year introduction blog post. I'll also be posting each monthly post back on the introduction page.

What makes Studio 180 Design tools different
multi-sized rulers - the tools allow you to make a variety of different sized units.
each tool includes instructions for making the units. There are also free instruction downloads from the website.
left and right-handed cutting
precision - we cut over sized pieces, sew then trim to precise sizes
I'm going to show you how to SPIT (sew, press, trim)
The tools and patterns are available from your local quilt shop as well as from the Studio 180 Design website. The patterns are also available as a digital download from the web site.
My goal with this series is to encourage all of use to make use of these amazing tools from Studio 180 Design and build our skills and quilt stash!
Here is the video. A bit longer than I had planned. I hope you see a nugget that will encourage you as you work on the Wedge Star tool and make a great block.
Happy Quilting
