Weekend Shout Out!

Wow, End of November already! Where has the year gone! Hubby is upstairs watching TV and reading....I don't know how he does both! and I am downstairs writing blog posts while I wait for some hand dyed fabric to set! I'll tell you all about this project in another post!

In the Studio

I have quilted my only "Christmas gift quilt" and have a couple of customers quilts to finish and then my machines are available for you to come and rent and quilt your own projects or to bring to me to quilt!

The studio will be close for a week, starting on Thursday, so the best way to get a hold of me to book rental time or to book in your quilt for quilting is to email me at allison.meadowrosequilts@gmail.com.

I will have lots of time available between December 6 and 22.

Calendar

I finished my 4 class series on Free Motion Quilting this afternoon. We started with the basics, moved on to creating some all over motifs and a variety of flowers and leaves. Today's class was all about Feathers! The girls in the class did amazing jobs. I can't wait to see what they do with their new skills! If you are interested in these or any other classes, Contact Cathy or Lori at Pinheads Quilting Company in Airdire. Cathy and I are starting to plan my New Years classes and knowing what you are interested in really helps us. Let Cathy know the best time for your class interests. We hate to book a class and then find out that the scheduled time doesn't work for anyone.

for example......

We had a LONE STAR class booked for Thursday evenings, but those interested were not able to make the 2 evenings. We are re-scheduling to Saturday, December 8 as an all day class. I am going to have to pull out some Christmasy fabrics for my class demo! Contact Cathy or Lori at Pinheads Quilting if you are interested in this class. It's super easy!!!!! We'll be focusing on the centre star in the class.

Longarm Social Club: I'm leading a longarm club on the 2nd Tuesday evening of the month (January 8 and February 5) at My Sewing Room. At the Club meetings we are looking at a variety of techniques and tips for using longarm machines. We are not focusing on any specific machine, just trying to generalize on longarms. Join us for a single meeting to check out what we do and bring show and tell and questions!!!! A reminder that you need to pre-register for each session.

Pro-Stitcher Social Club: These meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month (November 27, January 29-not the 4th Tuesday, but I will be away!, February 26) at My Sewing Room. In these club meetings we focus on using the Handi Quilter Pro-Stitcher Premium software. Lots of tips, tricks and answers to your questions. Don't have the program yet? Feel free to join us to see what this powerful program can do for you and your quilting!

On the Road

I had a great time early this month at Fun With Stitches in Belleville Ontario at a Handi Quilter Event and also had myself a mini-quilt retreat this week in Edmonton while my machine was having a spa day.

I am a few blocks short of completing my king size MODERN WEDDING RING quilt. I simply ran out of time and the hotel wouldn't let me say past check out time!

Have a great week sewing and quilting.
