Woot! Woot! I'm up to quilt #50 on my Challenge for 2017 and 2018.

I was cruising through Pinterest this week and saw this lovely tree quilt. Very similar technique to #49 quilt, a stack and cut/slash. I decided I just had to try it. In no time at all I had the blocks made, the quilt sewn together and loaded on my longarm! I found a quick tutorial by Amy Smart of Diary of a Quilter that I followed. This little quilt only measures 14" x 22".

The quilt was quilted in no time at all using the Christmas Trees design that I got from Intelligent Quilting by Apricot Moon. I used my Handi Quilter Pro-Stitcher Premium and shrunk the design down to 2 1/2" high. I had purchased this pattern to quilt a red and black plaid baby quilt. The Trees are simple enough without being too Christmasy.

The best part of this project was the binding/facing. We had a discussion at our longarm guild meeting this month about facings and one of the members shared this tutorial from Robbi Joy Ecklow and it is a FANTASTIC method.

I was able to share this method with a quilting buddy this weekend.

I didn't hand stitch the top corner triangles down as I plan to slide a wooden dowel into them to use as the hanging sleeve/corners. Easy Peasy!!!!! (I'll show the front of this quilt later, after it has been gifted!)

Only 14 more quilts to go!!!!!
